I'm a bit late in posting this image as we are into week 14 with the project, but sometimes a little late is better then not at all right???
Here is my post for last week. I used one image for both themes!
Get Emotional (PTM): To me, the night can provoke among some of the deepest emotions the heart can sustain. Looking into the night sky, I am reminded that God who put the stars in the sky knows me by name... this provokes deep emotion from within!
Nature (M4H): "A blanket of black with sprinkles of glow, feel very blessed to see and behold"... all He created is beautiful!

Project 52: Week 11 | Lancaster NY Family Photography
Here we are at week 11 and I wanted to go ahead and get this post done as my weekend is going to be pretty hectic! Here are the themes and images I chose for this week!
Theme 1: {Beauty in the everyday details}
I think my little guy is a beauty, of course I am biased, but there is just something so amazing about his little features that make my mommy heart leap! I am love with his beautiful eyelashes and capturing his childhood innocence and curiosity in the everyday moments!
Theme 2: {Blue}
It's a BIG day in our house... my little guy sporting his blue "Thomas underoo's" for the first time... potty training has been quite the challenge!

Here we are at week 11 and I am just now posting week 10... I'm only a few days behind, so I am sure you will forgive my tardiness! :0)
Having sick kiddos this week has put a slight "crimp" in producing much of anything... but I was able to capture this image and fortunately can use it for both themes this week.
This week's themes: {Personality & Perfect Pair}

Project 52: Week 9 | Lancaster NY Photography
I am a few days late at getting this post done... we had a birthday to celebrate this weekend. It is so hard to believe that 11 years ago my first born came into my life. To say that my "Mr. C" has blessed my life is an understatement. With all the birthday celebrations this weekend and a house full of 9 BOYS, I found it fitting to seek out this past weeks theme with the festivities in mind. This past weeks themes were that of: "color" and "spring, is that you?".
{Color}
I would certainly say that my first born has a vastly "colorful" personality and he was sure to display his vibrant personality with his friends this weekend. Of all the traits that make him so unique, a few stand out to me the most. My "Mr. C" is thoughtful, charismatic, and a perfectionist to say the least. But the characteristic he possesses that often brings me back to the giddy-mommy-love feeling is my guys zest for life and silly style! Thank you Channing for coloring my world with your amazing spirit and breath of life! I love you!
{Spring, is that you?}
Living in NY, the winters are incredibly long and spring often feels so far away. Being from the south, this is a tough thing to have to get use to. So when spring starts to rear it's head, I try to surround myself with the beauty, textures and simplicity of it. Here's to hoping spring is not too far away and the winter is behind us!

Project 52: Week 8 | Lancaster NY Photography
So here we are at week 8 in the project 52. The themes for this week are: simplicity and light.
Here is my simplicity image.... it is rare that I get to photograph any of my boys when they have "slowed down"... if you have boys, you know how difficult it is! It is even MORE RARE to capture my boys sleeping. I honestly don't think that I have captured this little guy sleeping since he was a year old. Sad, I know. But when I caught a glimpse of my little guy, I knew I had to steal this moment in time! To me, this image is simplicity in it's rawest form...
{Simplicity}
The second theme is: light! I immediately knew that I wanted to take a picture of this "light" when this theme rolled around. There is something about this candle and holder that illuminates the most amazing light.

Project 52: Week 7 | Lancaster NY Photography
So here we are at week 7 of my project 52! This week was much easier as far as finding the time for taking pictures as hubby was not away on business and I was not operating as "single mom"! Thank goodness!
This weeks themes were: "wild card" and "pretty ugly". Wildcard meaning, we could choose whatever moment we wanted to capture. The pretty ugly theme, is just that... finding the beauty (pretty) in the ugly... or what other's perceive as ugly!

Well, here are my images.
Theme 1: "Wild card"... I wanted to capture an everyday moment in the life of my kids. A moment that brings great joy to my kiddos and makes my "mommy heart" smile. I didn't anticipate capturing this image as my "choice" but couldn't resist when I saw the intense concentration and fun my little guy was having during his bath time. It's the little things, the moments like this that are so fleeting, that I long to capture. My little boys diving in and broadening their curiosity and finding great pleasure in the simple things!
Theme 2: "Pretty Ugly"... well, my 3 year old was expressing his creativity in a way that I could not resist grabbing the camera! When I asked him what he was doing, his reply "making my hand pretty, see???"... and there you have it... the reason for me choosing this image!

Project 52 Week:6| Lancaster NY family photographer
Hi Friends! Whew! This week was filled with many challenges... my hubby was out of town for the week and I HAD to play "single mom" to my 4 precious boys! Let's just say, being BLESSED to have my "other half" is an understatement! My heart goes out to all those single mom's who juggle it ALL with grace, integrity, and dignity! So, with that being said, I am so proud of myself that I was still disciplined to find the beauty in my life this week and participate in my project 52!
I must put a disclaimer on here...my little 18 month old was loved, hugged, squeezed and smiley very shortly after capturing this moment! He was displaying raw emotion as I had to tell him "NO!"... the word most of us hate to hear that often provokes raw emotion in the heart!
The first theme was: EMOTION...

The second theme was: LINEAR...
This one was tough for me, but it pushed me to think outside the box and find beauty in the everyday things. With all the "missing" of daddy this week, I thought I would make the day a bit sweeter for my boys (and myself of course) and bake some yummy cookies! Okay, don't judge... I know I'm not suppose to use food as a "feel good" substitute, but sometimes, the only thing that can satisfy the soul is the ooey, gooey goodness of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies!
Thanks for stopping by each week to peek into my life with my project 52! I urge you to find and see the beauty in your candid moments too!

5/52 Project | Buffalo NY Photography
Another week has past, I can't believe it is already February! I must say living in Buffalo NY for the past 5 years has been a challenge during the month of January and February with all the snow, but we haven't been blasted (yet) this winter... not sure if this is good or bad??? Anyways, this weeks themes for the projects I am participating in were "Simplicity" and "Liquid/Self Portrait". Here is my first image...
My sweet "baby J" was mesmerized with the simplicity of the letters on the fridge; I was (as I often am) mesmerized by the simple crescent shaped curls that adorn his precious head! Call me a sap, my oldest boy had curls like this as well and there is nothing more precious then a little boy with sweet curls!
I chose "liquid" as my next choice, just wasn't sure I could manage doing a self portrait this week after recovering from having my wisdom teeth (with a gazillion complications) as being anything buy awful. I am trying to look for the beauty in everything... and am finding that beauty is THERE... if only I take a moment and "see" it. Even in the mundane task of washing a sink full of dishes...

4/52 Theme: Imperfection & Different Perspective
So, I have kept my commitment for three 4weeks! Yay me! For this week's theme with PTM photography, I chosen theme was: "Imperfection"
This image was captured early morning when my two little munchkins were going about their day as usual... being "partners in crime". I love this image so much because it really captures "THEM"... with their "bed-head" and all their other imperfections... but my my standards... they are perfect! :0)
For this next image, with M4H photography, the theme chosen was, "different perspective"... I couldn't resist capturing this image of my precious pooch as she is usually perched up on the back of our couch somewhere. And this is exactly how she was here... so from little "Miss Rudy's" perspective... a different perspective, of course... it's a dog's life and a pretty good one at that!
Stay tuned for next weeks project... :0)

This weeks project 52:
These images are especially important to me. Two years ago on February 12th, one of the most important men in my life earned his wings... my grandfather! My grandpa was more like a dad to me then he was a grandfather. He was an artist himself and was incredibly gifted.
In the later part of his life, he spent much of his time, whether in good health or bad, trying to honor the men and women of our military by drawing pictures for the families who had lost a soldier in battle. My grandpa was recognized by some very highly esteemed individuals, but to me, the greatest accomplishment was his love for people, his family and his Heavenly Father.
Recently, my husband and I were finally going through some of the belongings passed down to me from him... before now it was just too painful and the task seemed overwhelming. Box after box, I came across an amazing camera. To tell you I was excited to hold in my hands a camera my grandfather had used to capture images himself, is an understatement!!!! Before my grandfather got sick he would take pictures of people (or anything for that matter) and then take his images and draw them on canvas. His images are breath-taking. So, you can see why I was so incredibly touched to be holding his camera in my own hands! He has truly been a catalyst for so many things in my life and he continues to inspire me.
Thank you Grandpa for continuing to urge me on to use my God-given talents to inspire others! I hope you're smiling! :0)
Theme 1: {Inspiration}
Theme: 2 {Negative Space}
Photographed with love! XOXO
