Wow! What a difference a year makes! This is a different type of post for me, but felt necessary to share it anyways. Last night I decided to take INVENTORY... professionally speaking! I decided that with this year almost coming to a close... well in a few months anyways.... that I would take a peek back and see how much I have progressed since embarking on my business in photography. I find it extremely important, both professionally and personally, to evaluate my strengths, weaknesses, growths and setbacks. I BY NO MEANS FEEL I HAVE ARRIVED AS A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER, however, after looking at this past year, I am proud of the accomplishments I have made on this journey! And CERTAINLY I could not have gotten through this first year and a half without the people that have believed in me. But I also could not have made such a huge leap forward artistically if it hadn't been for the nay-sayers and discouragers! I took the brutal and sometimes down right hurtful words of others and used them to fuel my passion and to help me to be better than I could have imagined. In large part, I am writing this post for those individuals out there who are embarking on their own journey, whether photography or otherwise, and cheering you on! Encouraging you to embrace the people who cheer for you! And to use the discouragement of others to fuel your passion and make your dreams larger than life! And by all means... take inventory!!! It is always beneficial to see how much you have grown and where you still need to! AGAIN, I AM NOWHERE NEAR WHERE I WANT TO BE... BUT I HAVE BIG DREAMS AND PLAN ON ATTAINING THEM! Lastly, this post is for my unbelievably amazing clients... had it not been for you, I would not be where I am today! My hope and prayer is that I continue to grow and produce images for you and your family that you will adore for years to come!
The following images are some old and new images. I have added a few critiques, some of which are pretty obvious. Sometimes you really can't measure growth unless you are comparing apples-to-apples.

Same kiddo, a year later! |

Same costume... same age kiddos... images taken a year apart!
